Delta police murder a robbery suspect and find the gun and ammunition.

Following a gunfight at a robbery scene along Jesus Avenue, Umusadege Quarters, Kwale, in the state’s Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State Police Command personnel have killed a suspected armed robber.

According to information obtained by PUNCH Metro, Kwale Divisional Police Officer CSP Godwin Igoche mobilized and led the divisional anti-crime patrol unit to the scene in response to a distress call reporting a robbery operation in the area.

When the suspects saw the police, they allegedly started a gunfight with them in which one of the thugs was shot while the rest managed to flee.

Later, the wounded suspect was brought to a hospital, where he passed away.

While confirming the event, the state police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said that the gang’s possession of one locally made gun, four live cartridges, and four used cartridges had been found.

According to the PPRO, a manhunt was being conducted to find the gang’s evading members.

In a related incident, the divisional anti-crime patrol team of the ‘C’ Division in Asaba, Delta State, stopped an unregistered motorcycle carrying four men, including the rider, and one of them was holding a black polythene bag while on a stop-and-search duty at the Headbridge in Asaba.

They apparently dropped the bike when they saw the police and fled on foot.
