Adekuroye and Oborududu dominate in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games 2022

At the Commonwealth Games in 2022, Odunayo Adekuroye and Blessing Oborududu successfully defended their wrestling championship.

In the 57kg division, Adekuroye defeated Anshu Malik of India 7-3 to claim the gold medal.

Since winning her first medal in 2014, the Ondo-born wrestler has never lost a bout in the Commonwealth Games.

Another excellent wrestler, Oborududu, won the gold medal in the 68kg division by defeating Linda Morais of Canada 5-1.

At the same division four years prior, Oborududu won in Australia’s Gold Coast.

Esther Kolawole defeated Abbie Fountain of Canada to win the bronze medal in the Women’s Freestyle 62kg division.
