Sergio Aguero, a former striker for Manchester City, has predicted the winner of the Premier League’s “Best Young Player of the Season” award for the current campaign.
Aguero hopes his former teammate Phil Foden wins the prestigious award since it recognizes him as a very promising player in the league.
In response to Stake, the former Argentine international stated: “I hope Phil Foden gets it. He’s a superb player in my opinion.
“With a remarkable talent at passing, assisting, and scoring goals. One of my favorite athletes is him.
I have watched him mature, and I believe he is approaching a level of maturity that is uncommon for someone his age.
Foden has cemented his position as a pillar of a dominant Man City squad that has won the Premier League four times in the previous five seasons.
In each of the last two seasons, the 22-year-old has taken home the Premier League’s “Young Player of the Year” honor.
In 168 senior games for Pep Guardiola’s team so far across all competitions, Foden has tallied 45 goals and 33 assists.
