EPL: Frank McAvennie names the teams that will contend for the title this year while snubbing Arsenal

Frank McAvennie, a former West Ham United striker, has overlooked Arsenal in favor of Manchester City and Liverpool as the sides that will contend for the Premier League championship this year.

McAvennie stated that he does not see Arsenal challenging Man City and Liverpool for the English Premier League this season, saying that the Gunners will simply contend for a spot in Europe.

The new Premier League 2022–23 season will begin this weekend, according to MINIECHAT.

Arsenal just acquired players like Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Premier League champion Manchester City.

Arsenal is not a contender for the Premier League championship this season, according to McAvennie.

“Not likely. Are Arsenal a strong team? Yes. They brought in some decent players, and I particularly like Alexander Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus from Man City. However, there is a reason Pep let them go—Arsenal won’t be competing with Man City, McAvennie said to Football Insider.

If he believed for even a moment that they would challenge them, he would not permit the two of them to travel to Arsenal.

Why, he continued, would City permit them to travel there if they believed they would be title contenders? This year, it won’t occur with Arsenal. I anticipate that they will compete for European spots but not against Man City and Liverpool.
