EPL: Ten Hag was “forced to accept” Man Utd’s decision to sign Ronaldo

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has been forced to realize that he must assemble his team without Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ten Hag was quite explicit about his excitement for working with Ronaldo and his confidence in his ability to assemble a successful team around him when he accepted the position.

But the 37-year-old has shocked the Old Trafford management by stating that he wants to leave the team less than a year after his tearful comeback from Juventus.

Last season, Ronaldo continued to score an astounding amount of goals, but United struggled and finished with their lowest-ever Premier League point total.

But Ronaldo wants to play in the Champions League next year and has no interest in participating in the Europa League.

United was initially hopeful that they could persuade Ronaldo to stay and complete the remaining year of his contract, according to The UK Sun.

The Red Devils are now resigned to losing the Portugal captain who seems to have little intention of joining the rest of the team for their upcoming tour of the Far East and Australia after skipping the start of preseason training due to “family concerns.”
