The reason Osimhen still wears a mask for safety is given by a doctor in Napoli.

Dr. Roberto Ruggiero of Napoli has explained why forward Victor Osimhen continues to wear a mask while playing.

In a Serie A match in November 2021, Osimhen collided with Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, suffering a head injury.

Due to the setback, the 23-year-old missed the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon at the beginning of this year.

Following surgery, the striker missed three months of action.

Even after healing from the severe injuries for seven months, Osimhen continues to play with a protective mask.

Ruggiero said to Radio Marte via Tutto Napoli, “Osimhen is totally cured; he still wears the protective mask because it gives him a sense of security, but he’s healed.

He wants to wear his own balance, which he has. Hopefully, this mask will keep him safe until he removes it when he feels secure.

Not before then, I still need to check, but as soon as he gets back, we’ll be working hard.

Osimhen played in 27 league games for Napoli last year, scoring 14 goals and dishing out two assists.
