Falcons manager Waldrum criticizes Nigerian media following victory against Botswana at WAFCON 2022

Randy Waldrum, the head coach of the Super Falcons, has harsh words for the Nigerian media after his team’s excellent 2-0 victory over Botswana on Thursday.

The reigning champions at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, which is now taking place in Morocco, received harsh criticism for their poor performance in their opening match against South Africa.

However, Waldrum’s team recovered and played well against the Mares.

After receiving a lovely pass from tenacious midfielder Halimat Ayinde, Onumonu gave the Super Falcons the lead in the 21st minute when she outran her defenders and sent the ball beyond the advancing goalie, Maitumelo Bosija.

Substitute Three minutes after the half, Christy Ucheibe scored to put Botswana out of the match.

“Nigeria’s media is incredibly depressing. At the news conference following the game, Waldrum stated, “We don’t want distractions in our team.

“The teams must be isolated since we are attempting to qualify for the World Cup.”

On Sunday, the Super Falcons’ final group game will be against Burundi.
