Group organizes a national soccer tournament for seven-a-side

Atikulate Nigeria Network and DSG Sport Management are collaborating on a national initiative to promote football using the seven-a-side format.

One such tournament, according to Dennis Onwuka, the network’s primary organizer and sports director, was conducted in Abuja over the weekend and generated new stars for the nation.

The network’s director general, Eichie Ehiagwina Mayor, said that young participation in the campaign extends beyond athletics to other facets of life, including government.

He said that the network intends to hold a seven-a-side competition that would include teams from all of the geopolitical zones’ wards, adding that each of the 774 local councils in the 36 states and the FCT will register four teams to compete for cash prizes.

All teams may register at no cost, and the winner team will get N5, 000,000.

Over 3,000 people watched the test event in Abuja, and 900 new members were accepted into the network.

At the conclusion of the contest, medals were given to the victors, and prizes were given to the raffle winners in the form of presents.
