Police warn Adeleke’s followers about the celebration in Osun 2022

The newly elected governor of Osun, Ademola Adeleke, has been advised by the Osun State Police Command to exercise restraint when jubilating after his victory in the recently held gubernatorial election.

Recall that Adeleke received 403,371 votes, compared to Oyetola’s 375,027, to defeat the incumbent governor.

The Command also encouraged the winning politicians to avoid using hate or insulting words that could generate unrest or disrupt the peace in the State in a press release signed by Yemisi Opalola, the Command’s spokeswoman.

The Command also insisted that vigilance was necessary since hoodlums, criminals, and thugs would exploit the celebration to carry out their evil deeds and endanger the state’s tranquility.

He said, “The CP, assured the inhabitants of appropriate security and requested the assistance of all and sundry to continue the calm atmosphere being enjoyed in the State.

The command cautioned that it still had a constitutional duty to safeguard lives and property while urging the citizens of the State to be calm at all times.

The command allayed concerns about the winner of the gubernatorial election on Saturday not receiving a Certificate of Return by assuring them that the governor-elect would receive one on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
