Rio Ferdinand picks three players who helped Man Utd defeat Liverpool in the English Premier League.

Rio Ferdinand, a veteran at Manchester United, has identified the three players who contributed to the Red Devils’ Premier League victory over Liverpool on Monday.

In their own stadium, Man United upset Liverpool 2-1 with goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

At Old Trafford, Mohamed Salah scored a goal for Liverpool against Erik ten Hag’s team.

Ferdinand has since singled out players like Rashford, Raphael Varane, and Lisandro Martinez for their exceptional performance against Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Ferdinand claimed on his FIVE YouTube channel that Rashford resembled something from the past.

“With the strength, capacity to lag behind, desire, and pursuit of things.

The way United pressed was admirable, as was the way they maintained their shape.

“The two center-halves were great,” he continued, “and I felt [Raphael] Varane covered brilliantly in the first half and throughout the game.

“[Lisandro] Martinez was rude to people, fighting with them, and generally being a bothersome… He reminds me a little bit of Gabriel Heinze, albeit perhaps not as rashly, and I really enjoy the way he looks.

“I still think he will be isolated and targeted, but what a major signing he could be if he can perform to the standard today,” the author said.
