Ronaldo linked with sensational Chelsea move

After Todd Boehly apparently spoke with Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes, Chelsea has been connected with a surprise move for the player.

Ronaldo, 37, is entering the final year of his contract with Manchester United and, according to The Athletic, he is worried that, following a dismal season, the team won’t match his ambition in the summer window.

According to reports, Boehly, the new owner of Chelsea, spoke with Mendes while he was in Portugal, and one of the topics they discussed was Ronaldo’s future and a prospective transfer to Stamford Bridge. Ronaldo has reportedly been offered to the Blues, according to The Telegraph.

While it is unclear whether Chelsea would make a serious bid for the striker, United intends to maintain its star player, and it is widely expected that he will stay at the team he loves.

In a related incident, Manchester United might not be able to sign their top summer transfer target.

According to a recent article from the Spanish publication Cadena SER, midfielder Frenkie De Jong is allegedly unwilling to leave Barcelona.

De Jong’s projected move to Old Trafford has been seen as crucial to how the start of the Dutchman’s reign would play out and is thought to be at the top of Erik ten Hag’s summer wishlist.

But because negotiations have been going on for days with little to show for it, United supporters have been left to wonder what the Netherlands international will ultimately decide to do. According to these most recent reports, the playmaker may have decided against moving to the Premier League.
