According to reports, Xavi Hernandez, the manager of Barcelona, is prepared to offload at least seven players during the summer transfer window as he strives to strengthen his team for the upcoming campaign.
The players that Xavi wants to have leave Barcelona prior to the start of the 2022–23 season are Neto, Samuel Umtiti, and Martin Braithwaite, the Sun UK reported on Wednesday.
Others include Oscar Mingueza and Riqui Puig from the academy, and Rey Manaj, a fellow La Masia alumnus, just signed with Watford in the English Championship.
Memphis Depay, who joined Barcelona from Lyon a year ago, may also be leaving the club soon.
According to the article, Xavi believes that the players are unnecessary for the upcoming season.
Despite the club’s financial difficulties, Xavi intends to compete in the LaLiga next season.
Last season, Xavi’s team placed second in LaLiga, trailing only champions Real Madrid.
