Society for the Blind’s Health Walk and Eye Screening with KBL Insurance Partners

Over the weekend, the Federal Nigerian Society for the Blind (FNSB) organized a health walk and eye screening exercise in which Lagosians from all parts of the state, particularly the island, actively participated. The event was a part of the White Cane Safety Day celebration in 2022, which had the theme “Together Crossing New Boundaries.” It is a worldwide initiative on October 15th that aims to raise money and awareness for the needs of those who are blind or visually impaired.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which focuses on giving back to its host communities, the event was funded by KBL Insurance Limited, a significant participant in the Nigerian insurance industry and a subsidiary of Keystone Bank Limited. The walk, which was held in beautiful weather with enthusiastic participants, began at the Muson Centre and traveled along Awolowo Road to the Falomo roundabout before returning to the same location. The Lagos State government and the Nigeria Police provided all the necessary logistics to ensure safety.

In order to assure the program’s success, the health experts mobilized by the organizers also provided eye tests and administered the necessary treatments. Participants were adequately taken care of thanks to the logistics supplied by the FNSB and its partner, KBL.

Mrs. Ukachi Orji, MD/CEO of KBL Insurance Limited, gave background information on the partnership and stated her company’s enthusiasm for the underprivileged guided its choice to sponsor the activity. “KBL Insurance Limited is enthusiastic about helping those who are physically disabled, particularly those who have vision problems and other groups who find it difficult to do many tasks on their own.
