Three POS robbers were burned alive by a mob in Aba.

Three robbery suspects were set on fire by an enraged mob as they terrorized Point of Sale workers at Abayi along the Aba-Owerri expressway in Aba, Abia State.

The motorcycle-riding bandits were also allegedly robbing roadside vendors, gas stations, and keke drivers in the nearby streets of Afor-ule, Umuimo, and Kamalu.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke to MINIECHAT, the criminals were apprehended by enraged youngsters after they had successfully stolen a PoS operator and a few nearby businesses.

“When people raised an alert, the criminals left after robbing the PoS operator and a few stores.

They were being pursued by some young people, but a moving car knocked them off their motorcycle. One was destroyed at the UBA Bank across from it, and others were burned at the intersection of Union Bank and Star Paper Mill after the youngsters caught up with them. These youngsters have been breaking into businesses and PoS operators. Nemesis has caught up with them today, according to the witnesses.

People were observed discussing the incident, which caused a significant traffic gridlock along the Aba-Owerri road.

As of the time this report was filed, a patrol of police officers had taken control of the situation.

A SMS message sent to SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command, was not yet returned.
