Tinubu-Shettima: Muslim intellectuals of Yoruba denounce the hostility of Christian leaders

The Bola Tinubu-Kashim Shettima opposition, according to a group called the Concerned Yoruba Muslim Scholars in Nigeria, was unnecessary.

When choosing the country’s next president in 2023, the group urged Nigerians to put competence ahead of faith.

The Secretary-General, Prof. Abideen Olaiya, accused the Christian leadership of organizing the opposition against the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.

He emphasized in his Monday speech in Ibadan that national interests should come before personal preferences.

Olaiya claimed that the group was disturbed by the protest by some Christian leaders and adherents.

“We are quite horrified by the level of prejudice being displayed by the opposition parties disguising themselves as other groups or names.

NAN reported him as stating, “Nigeria desire good government regardless of religion and/or ethnic allegiance of whoever is capable of delivering it.

Olaiya remarked that people had always coexisted with variances and added that these shouldn’t take precedence over aptitude.

According to the scribe, individuals who were meant to serve as the moral leaders of a united and successful country “have now turned into agents of the opposition party.”

Olaiya urged Nigerians to walk “the honorable path of tolerance” and called an end to “the Islamization twaddle.”
