Transfer: Boehly, the owner of Chelsea, will pay off an English star to leave Stamford Bridge

According to The Sun, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has chosen to pay Ross Barkley to leave the team right away.

The offensive midfielder from England hasn’t played for the Blues this year.

The 28-year-old, who cost £15 million when he transferred from Everton to Stamford Bridge in 2018, has only scored 12 goals in 100 games.

Barkley spent the previous season on loan at Aston Villa, but he later returned to Chelsea and only made 14 appearances in all competitions.

According to The Sun, Chelsea will release Barkley from his contract in order to make room for Anthony Gordon, who Everton is reportedly interested in selling.

With one year left on his contract, Barkley, who joined Chelsea on their preseason tour last month, is reportedly paid £200k a week.
