Transfer: Leno breaks his silence after joining London rivals from Arsenal

Late on Tuesday night, Bernd Leno’s permanent transfer from Arsenal to Fulham was announced.

The newcomers to the Premier League will provide the Gunners an initial payment of £3 million, with an additional £1 million coming to Arsenal depending on Premier League performances.

The total package could be worth up to £8 million if Fulham avoids relegation this season and again the following season. Arsenal will receive an additional £2 million if they do so.

“It feels wonderful to be here at last. I am eager to join the squad, train with them, and play with them.

“Now that everything is over, I feel relieved. Just being here makes me joyful. The most crucial thing is that we succeeded, even though it took some time,” Leno told FFCtv.

Leno departs the Emirates after Aaron Ramsdale’s arrival last summer caused him to lose his starting position.

In a £22 million transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, the German player joined Arsenal in 2018.

Leno, 30, has committed to a three-year deal with a 12-month club option.
