As the administration and people of Imo State get ready for President Muhammadu Buhari’s second official visit to the state on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, there is now an atmosphere of celebration and enthusiasm in the state.
According to a statement released over the weekend by Oguwike Nwachuku, the governor’s chief press secretary and media adviser, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba, numerous town union presidents, market women associations, and unions representing road transport workers had called to thank the governor for repairing the two major roads connecting Owerri to Orlu and Owerri to Okigwe, which had been impassable for years.
They acknowledged that the improved roads had favorably benefited their operations while being thrilled that the president would personally be there to commission the construction.
The commissioner stated that the president was supposed to give the governor fewer than three years to complete three historic projects.
The projects he mentioned were the reconstruction of the ultra-modern Imo State House of Assembly Complex, the dualization of the Owerri-Orlu Road, and the first phase of the Owerri-Okigwe Road.
The state administration was putting the final touches on the visit’s schedule on Saturday, and the commissioner said that every provision had been made to guarantee Mr. President’s visit went off without a hitch.
The president’s second trip to Imo, according to the statement, was an indication the governor was doing well.
