A new president of IFMA is chosen.

Olalekan Akinwumi has been chosen as the 14th president of the Nigerian Chapter of the International Facility Management Association.
He was chosen recently during the association’s Annual General Meeting, according to a statement.

The newly elected council will draw on the experiences of its members to create notable changes, the new president promised in his acceptance address.

“I am honored that you thought me enough of your confidence and faith enough to give me the leadership of this outstanding organization,” he added. With the combined expertise of the distinguished members of this council, I am certain that we will have a notable influence as we work to make “Talk FM” and “Do FM” a reality in Lagos and across Nigeria.

“I also want to express my gratitude to the past leaders for their outstanding achievements. You really are an inspiration, and you’ve given us a worthwhile task. We must fulfill our obligation to carry on the excellent job you started, and with this new team, we will do even better.

He committed to concentrating on developing marketable research, creating new partnerships with people and organizations while enhancing those that already exist, increasing local training to meet the Nigerian climate, and creating a successful association overall.
Akinwumi formerly held the positions of association vice president, general secretary, assistant general secretary, and treasurer.

The association’s immediate past president, Segun Adebayo, thanked everyone who had contributed to the achievements the organization has had under his leadership since he took over in December 2020 during his farewell address at the Annual General Meeting.

“Our joint will and dedication as a forward-thinking organization via our revised mission has not only strengthened our relevance, but has also benefited the growth and development of the facilities management area,” he added.
