Akpabuyo Attack: Group calls for indemnity of PDP members who suffered losses

A political organization operating under the auspices of the PDP Rescue Mission Support Group (RMSP) has denounced the assault on PDP chieftains in Cross River state’s Akpabuyo LGA.

The appeal was made in a press release made accessible to journalists on Wednesday in Calabar by the group’s leader, Hon. Dennis Abang.

The organization lamented the national’s silence over the mayhem inflicted on members, including a member of the state executive in office.

While urging the Party at the national level to assist members who had losses of varying degrees, it was pointed out that many of them remained stuck with their families for weeks following the chaos.
Abang said that reaching out to those assaulted will act as incentive for them in the mission ahead while emphasizing that the attack’s purpose was to frighten potential voters and PDP supporters.

“I’m bringing up the mayhem in Akpabuyo because I know that the party leadership, particularly at the national level, hasn’t been in touch with everyone whose homes were damaged.
Because of their connection with the PDP, which caused them to such harm, we must feel sympathy for them, he said.

Remember that a few weeks ago, thugs said to be loyal to the APC in the region assaulted approximately 10 PDP chieftains, including the state party’s organizing secretary, Hon. Francis Ekeng, and carted away their homes, vehicles, and other belongings?

The group lamented the party’s failure to handle the situation with the G5, which he said was crucial to the Party’s success. They encouraged the party leadership to prevent any slips at the last minute.

He said that the success of the party in the general elections will depend on the competence of the party executives at all levels to handle problems at this crucial moment.
He specifically urged the PDP to take immediate action to ease the sentiments of any resentful members, regardless of their standing.

He said that “we are currently at a crucial stage before the elections and we must do everything, including reaching out to any perceived resentful party members, to win the final triumph.”

This becomes vital to avoid the G5’s dangers; we shouldn’t undercut anybody now since we all have a little part to play in helping our beloved party win the day overall.

Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president and party presidential candidate, received a pledge from the group at the end of the meeting to deliver more than 5 million votes from all of the South South states.

    1. And its so not nice that the aggrieved have not been reached out to…..and if the accusations on apc are true, then it is very disgraceful of them……we all know this has been the way they operated, both pdp and apc.
