ASUU strike may finish tomorrow, according to lecturers

If the federal government answers their concerns, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared that their industrial action will terminate immediately.

This was said by Emmanuel Osodeke, the president of ASUU, on Monday night’s episode of Politics Today on Channels Television.

Osodeke stated that the administration and he had reached a deal, although it has not yet been formalized.

He claims that one important requirement is that ASUU use its own generated payment platform, University Transparency Accountability Solution (UTAS).

“The strike can finish tomorrow, according to ASUU.

“The negotiations are now over. We’ll be there tomorrow if the government phones and asks us to come sign the document right now.

“We will end the strike once the government notifies us that the UTAS testing is complete and we have agreed to it.

“When will they formally sign the contract? When will UTAS be accepted? The Nigerian government should be questioned on these two points, according to Osodeke.
