Falconets aim for victory vs Korea Republic at the U-20 World Cup

After scoring the first goal for Southampton in the Premier League, Joe Aribo is feeling upbeat.

At the St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, the midfielder scored as Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team overcame a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Leeds United.

After an hour, the Saints were down 2-0, but the entrance of Aribo in the 61st minute gave the visitors new life.

In the 72nd minute, Aribo scored a goal off a cross from fellow substitute Adam Armstrong.

Nine minutes left in the game, Kyle Walker-Peters evened the score.

Aribo told BBC Sport, “I’m excited, I was able to leave my imprint on the game.

I’m glad I was able to aid the team in retaliation.

Even though it was 2-0, I believe the supporters continued to support us.
“Surprised I scored with my right foot for my first Premier League goal.”
