Police accuse a Florida medical spa doctor of abusing sedated patients.

This week, authorities claimed, a doctor in southwest Florida was detained for allegedly drugging and mistreating his female patients while they were under the influence of medication.

Board-certified physician Dr. Eric Andrew Salata, 54, is accused of two counts of sexual violence on a defenseless victim.

Women who claimed they had been abused while obtaining cosmetic medical procedures at the Pura Vida Medical Spa in Naples have filed complaints with the Naples Police Department, according to the department.

Salata was recognized by the victims as the attacker, according to Naples police.

One lady admitted to using nitrous oxide to help with sedation and discomfort following a surgery, according to the police. She said that while the nitrous oxide was wearing off, she discovered Salata having sex with her.

According to police, the lady called them because she was “shocked.” They said she consented to a sexual assault examination, which was then sent to a forensics lab for further research.

Texas DPS reports that three of the state’s “most wanted” offenders were captured within a week.

Police said that while Salata was sedated at Pura Vida Medical Spa, another lady claimed to have had a same experience. Detectives gathered evidence of sexual assault, which they also sent to a forensics lab for comparison and to support Salata’s prosecution, according to the police.

On Monday night, Salata was discovered in the Pura Vida Clinic and taken into custody. In order to find any more evidence, the detectives also executed a search warrant at the office.

Salata appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday afternnon. On Thursday, no one from his defense team could be contacted for comment.
