Guber Polls: LP Rules Out Alliance With Other Parties

The Labour Party (LP) has said that it has not forged an agreement with any political party ahead of this Saturday’s elections for governor and state parliament.

The Labour Party asserted that it is taking no chances in ensuring that its candidates not only take part in the governorship and state assembly elections, but also come out on top.

The clarification is necessary, according to a statement from the party’s national chairman, Barr Julius Abure, in light of reports from some political opportunists from other political platforms, who claim to have an agreement with “Obidients and LP supporters to cast their ballots for them in this Saturday’s elections.

“We want to say definitely and unambiguously that no chapter of the party has received any orders from the LP national headquarters to coordinate with or assist any other candidates in this Saturday’s elections except LP candidates.

“We call on the millions of voters who support LP presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi and the party’s worldview to cast their votes for all LP candidates nationwide without being discouraged. In the lead-up to this Saturday’s elections, the LP has no alliances with any political parties, Abure continued.
