Police in Peru urge the “logical use” of force against Lima protesters.
The defending champion Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia, in a game that came after the Defense of the People of Peru requested that the National Police use “rational” measures against demonstrators after this past Saturday saw physical altercations between law enforcement officers and some participants in a march in Lima that was organized to draw attention to a political crisis in the nation.
According to a statement it issued on Twitter, the organization urged for “making a reasonable and strictly required use of tear gas, to prevent impacting the health of the people rallying.”

The Ombudsman’s Office further urged representatives to refrain from “using horses in mobilizations and demonstrations” since such behavior “may harm the integrity of the persons taking part in events and violate the animal protection regulations.”
He continued by saying that he had commissioners “supervising the growth of mobilizations to safeguard people’s rights” in the capital.

A MINIECHAT crew was on the scene this past Saturday as law enforcement sent out officers on horses and used tear gas to disperse the protesters. This caused some of the protestors to hurl objects at the officers and engage in physical altercations with them.
As of this past Saturday, no injuries were reported as a result of the occurrences, and the Police had likewise made no remarks on the rioting.
The use of police force is only permitted when it attempts to violate the rights of third parties, public or private property, and for acts of violence against the authority. The Police stated at the start of the march that “peaceful protest is a right” and urged for “calm and respect for the life of the citizen.”
