Sergio Gomez, a recent addition to Manchester City, has claimed that club veteran Vincent Kompany persuaded him to join with the Premier League winners.
Gomez was acquired by Manchester City from Anderlecht on Tuesday for a reported £11 million plus add-ons.
Gomez, who played for Anderlecht in all match last season, agreed to a four-year contract with Pep Guardiola’s team.
“A few days ago, when I learned that City was interested in signing me, I spoke with Kompany. He expressed his happiness for me and assured me that moving here would be the correct choice for my career.
