An enraged mob has lynched a suspected armed robber for reportedly stealing a unisex salon on Governors Road in the Ikotun neighborhood of Lagos State.

Residents pursued the hoodlums as they fled the neighborhood when the victims called for help.

“The person who fell was instantly lynched by a crowd of locals. The two others managed to escape the area, but they were apprehended by several persons who had been pursuing them since the heist.

Yusuf Olalekan, a different community member, said that the escapees were returned to the spot with their wrists bound because the locals protested the police carrying them away.

The police subsequently returned to arrest the thieves after dispatching more of their guys. An employee at the salon was hurt. The bandits’ bullet skimmed the back of his neck, but he received treatment, the officer said.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police’s public relations officer, verified the occurrence.
There were three armed robbers, he claimed. Two people were arrested and one was lynched.

Following the accident on Thursday, Etuhu was taken to a hospital where he passed away on Friday.

Moses Sunday, one of his coworkers, claims that the deceased was riding his motorbike when he was struck by a vehicle.

He was struck by a car as he attempted to cross from one lane to another, according to Sunday. His injuries were severe, and the hospital where he was taken the next day.

The event, he pointed out, occurred only a week after the deceased had been delighted by the restoration of traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway as a result of the road’s ongoing rehabilitation.

“He said that riders on the Okada would benefit financially from the scenario. Since then, I’ve cautioned people to avoid using the freeway, Sunday continued.

Two motorcycle riders were struck and killed by a vehicle in November 2022 near the Arepo end of the highway.

One person was killed in the collision, according to Florence Okpe, a spokesman for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State.

She said, “If you check the Warewa stretch of the road, you will see cops and FRSC personnel directing traffic and blocking the one-way movement,” when asked what the agency was doing to stop motorcycles from traveling one-way on the road. However, it’s becoming out of control since so many individuals break the law.
