Oshiomhole Accuses Security Agents Of Connivance With Thugs

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State and a senator-elect, has accused the PDP-led government in Edo State of allegedly compromising security services and providing cover for alleged thugs to obstruct polls in regions where the All Progressives Congress (APC) was triumphant.

In a video, Oshiomhole commented on the election’s legitimacy, saying, “Our election can be better because what is occurring in many areas is bad.

“The security personnel were monitoring the demolition of polling unit supplies in Sobe (Owan West local government area). When security was present, several thugs entered and got unrestricted access to election materials, trashing them. When I phoned the police, the commissioner of police advised them not to search outside of certain zones. If your goal isn’t to deter crime, how can you effectively monitor a location?

“It’s wrong that they are utilizing vigilante groups to carry out shooting. The people of Nigeria are peaceful, but you have some desperate politicians. Due to the fact that Obaseki and Philip’s units were defeated in the last election, they are adamant that wherever they are not winning, they would demolish them and sabotage the poll. Of of the 17 units in Sobe, 10 were demolished, and those are the units where we received a significant number of favorable votes.
